Voices From the Past: Woodlawn Cemetery WalK

The Voices From the Past: Woodlawn Cemetery Walk is a Winona County Historical Society fundraiser.  Each year we bring to life those from our community’s past who are buried in beautiful Woodlawn Cemetery.

Featured on WCCO’s Finding Minnesota – Watch it Here

2013

October 12 & 13     Noon – 3 p.m.

Tickets are sold at the Cemetery front gate during the Walk. Cost is $7 adults, $5 students 13 and older, $3 children 12 and younger.

Take a walk through beautiful Woodlawn Cemetery to visit with people of Winona’s past. For this year’s Walk we will focus on the “lure and lore” of the Mississippi River!

Tours last approx. 2 hours. Guides will lead groups from site to site through the cemetery offering information about the Cemetery, Winona History and area grave sites throughout the Walk.

Ride The Trolley if you are unable to make the Walk on foot, then sign up for the Trestor Trolley Tours. There is no extra cost to ride the trolley, just call 507-454-2723 ext. 0 to reserve your seat. We kindly request that those able to walk who are attending the event with someone riding the Trolley, go with a group either before or after the Trolley Tour, so others who cannot make the Walk are able to get a seat on the Trolley Tours. Please stop at the Ticket Table before you board the Trolley.

Getting to Woodlawn Cemetery – The Cemetery is just off Highway 61 (Huff Street intersection) across from the “small” Lake Winona along the base of Winona’s beautiful bluffs. Watch for signs and parking attendants will assist you for parking.

NEW! Indoor Performance – Thursday, October 10 at 7 p.m.

The sites for this year’s Walk will be performed at the History Center for those who wish to have an indoor or need a fully handicap accessible experience. Same admission, taken at the door.
