Slaggie Family Lobby Art Gallery

The History Center is a vibrant community attraction for visitors and locals alike. As the Winona County Historical Society’s main museum, it houses a great gift shop, three floors of historical exhibits, a research library and archives, event spaces and more. The History Center is positioned 3 blocks from Winona’s levee park and is in a hot downtown development area with upscale apartments at Main Square and the new Fastenal office building is two blocks away.
Along with locals and visitors coming to the History Center regularly, American Cruise Lines and other river cruise companies dock regularly at Winona bringing visitors from around the world.

Space Planning:
The Winona County History Center’s Slaggie Family Lobby has roughly 530 sq. ft. of exhibition space. The space can be seen from above with a ceiling that reaches two stories. Gallery walls and pedestals are painted “Soft Chamois”, an off-white. Paint color will not be changed. The cases have wood bases to match the lobby floor and ceiling and are lined with a lightly padded black felt with plexi tops.
The gallery space uses a Walker Display system with 36 hanging hooks. Each cable hook can hold up to 20 lbs. and each cable can hold up to 50 lbs. The rail can hold up to 150 lbs. along its length. All sides of the moveable walls can be used and they can be arranged in many layouts. Hanging art must have a wire on the back. Video: How to Install a Frame Wire
